Note to Self: Religion...freaky.

So with last weeks re-election of President Obama, young American women can breathe a sigh of relief: their future is no longer bound to the decisions of a few elderly men (for now).

Quite frankly why the abortion issue has anything to do with politics - or to do with the GOP to be precise - is beyond me. The pro-choice/pro-life debate seems to be central to a politician's campaign these days, but is up there with same-sex marriage as a complete non-issue.

For although these may conflict with religion (by the way being anti-abortion AND anti-birth control is just nonsensical...these people are just pro-anti), the religious right would do well to respect that not everyone shares their beliefs. Giving women contraception does not compromise your religion, it compromises a woman's right to decide what's best for her body and her life. It is her who will be affected by the choice.
